Razorpay charges for WhatsApp payment links, as on 17 September 2026
As on 17 September 2026, Razorpay's pricing page lists a platform fee of 2% per successful transaction plus 18% GST on that fee, with no setup fee and no annual maintenance charge. Payment Links are offered at the same cost, so a link sent inside a WhatsApp chat is charged like any other Razorpay payment. Convo360 adds no markup.

- Razorpay's published standard rate is 2% per successful transaction, and 18% GST is charged on the fee, not on your order value.
- Payment Links, Payment Pages, Payment Buttons and Invoices are listed at the same cost as the gateway, with no separate link charge.
- Razorpay says UPI has Zero MDR, but its own FAQ adds that the 2% platform fee still applies to UPI payments.
- Settlement is published as T+2 working days in the docs, while the pricing FAQ says typically T+1 or Instant, so check your own Dashboard.
- You connect your own Razorpay account to Convo360; money settles from Razorpay to your bank and Convo360 takes no cut.
Razorpay charges as on 17 September 2026
Every figure here was read from Razorpay's official pricing page and docs as on 17 September 2026. Razorpay publishes one standard pay-as-you-go rate for its payment gateway. The same page says you can use Payment Links, Payment Pages, Payment Buttons and Invoices "at the same cost", so a link your bot sends inside a WhatsApp chat is charged like any other Razorpay payment.
| Item | Published figure |
|---|---|
| Platform fee | 2% per successful transaction |
| GST on the platform fee | 18%, charged in addition |
| Setup fee | ₹0 |
| Annual maintenance charge (AMC) | ₹0 |
| Separate charge for Payment Links | None published; same cost as the gateway |
| Normal refund processing fee | ₹0, but the original fee and GST are not reversed |
| Footnote under the payment method list | "Platform fee 2.15% + GST" |
| Monthly volume above ₹5,00,000 | Custom pricing through Razorpay sales |
The pricing page lists cards (Visa, Mastercard, RuPay, American Express, Diners Club, other international cards and corporate credit cards), UPI, netbanking, wallets, EMI, cardless EMI, Pay Later and credit card on UPI. The 2.15% footnote sits below that list, but the page as we could read it does not show which methods it attaches to. Confirm that on the official Razorpay pricing page or in your Dashboard. International card rates sit on a separate tab that we could not read, so they are not quoted here. This article is information, not financial or tax advice.
What you are billed for, and the UPI Zero MDR point
The billing unit is one successful transaction. Razorpay's FAQ says the fee and the applicable GST are deducted from the customer's payment at source, and the remaining amount is settled to your registered bank account. A link that is never paid, or a payment that fails, does not attract the platform fee.
Most customers who pay from a WhatsApp chat choose UPI, so read this part carefully. Razorpay's FAQ states there is Zero MDR (Merchant Discount Rate) on standard bank-to-bank UPI transactions, meaning the bank does not charge you. The same answer then adds that a standard platform or technology fee of 2% will be applied for the dashboard, reporting tools and payment infrastructure. The FAQ also says RuPay debit card transactions are covered under the Zero MDR policy.
In short, Zero MDR is not the same as a zero Razorpay fee. If you are budgeting for UPI orders on the standard plan, use 2% plus GST unless Razorpay has given you a different rate in writing.
Refunds matter too. Razorpay's docs say normal refunds carry no processing fee, but the transaction fee and GST taken when the payment was captured are not returned to you.
Fee-per-order formula with an illustrative order value
The order values below are ILLUSTRATIVE. Put in your own average order value and your own rate if Razorpay has given you custom pricing.
- Platform fee = order value × 2%
- GST on fee = platform fee × 18%
- Total deduction = platform fee + GST, which works out to 2.36% of the order value
- Amount settled = order value minus total deduction
| Illustrative order | Platform fee | GST on fee | Total deducted | Settled to you |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ₹350 at 2% | ₹7.00 | ₹1.26 | ₹8.26 | ₹341.74 |
| ₹1,000 at 2% | ₹20.00 | ₹3.60 | ₹23.60 | ₹976.40 |
| ₹1,000 at the 2.15% footnote rate | ₹21.50 | ₹3.87 | ₹25.37 | ₹974.63 |
At an illustrative 300 orders of ₹1,000 in a month, that is ₹3,00,000 collected, ₹6,000 in platform fee and ₹1,080 in GST, so ₹7,080 deducted in total. There is no fixed monthly cost on top, because setup and AMC are both ₹0.
Settlement timing and activation, as published
Razorpay's two official pages word this differently, so both are quoted. The settlements docs say the standard settlement cycle for domestic payments is T+2 working days, where T is the date the payment is captured, and that working days do not include bank holidays. The pricing page FAQ says the balance is settled according to your settlement cycle, "typically T+1 or Instant". The docs add that the cycle is subject to bank approval and can vary by business vertical and risk factors. Treat the cycle shown in your own Razorpay Dashboard as the correct one.
Instant Settlements is described as an on-demand feature you request from Razorpay support. Its price is not on the pages we read, so it is not quoted here.
Nothing settles until the account is KYC approved and fully activated. The set-up docs ask for PAN details that depend on your business type, a GST certificate if you have a GSTIN (you can select that you do not have one), and a bank account that Razorpay verifies with a ₹1 deposit. Central KYC can fast-track verification, with Video KYC as the fallback.
How Razorpay connects to Convo360 with your own account
Convo360 is BYOK: you connect your own Razorpay account, the customer pays on Razorpay's page, and Razorpay settles to your bank. The money never passes through Convo360 and there is zero markup on payments. You pay Razorpay's charges to Razorpay and your Convo360 plan separately (see pricing).
- Open Integrations in your workspace and add Razorpay with your own account keys. The integrations docs cover this.
- In the Flow Builder, place the Razorpay payment link block after the step where the customer confirms the order. Map the amount, description and customer fields, using a variable such as order_total for variable prices.
- Set up a payment trigger so that a successful payment starts a confirmation flow. The webhooks docs explain the Razorpay webhook. Each payment webhook is HMAC-verified with your own secret and de-duplicated, and values such as {{payment_amount}} and {{payment_contact}} are available in the flow.
- Use Preview for a dry run, then make one small real payment and check the settlement report in Razorpay.

Ways to reduce payment cost that the fee table supports
- New account offer. Razorpay's welcome offer terms give merchants activated on or after 1 July 2026 zero platform fee on domestic payments for 90 days or up to ₹5,00,000 of transactions, whichever comes first. Prepaid cards, corporate credit cards, American Express, Diners Club and all EMI methods are excluded, and a KYC processing fee of ₹199 plus taxes may apply.
- Avoid refunds you can prevent. The original fee and GST are not reversed on a normal refund. Let the bot confirm items, address and total with a Buttons block before it sends the link.
- Do not count on UPI being cheaper. On the published standard plan, UPI carries the same 2% platform fee, so steering customers to UPI does not lower the Razorpay fee by itself.
- Ask for custom pricing once you cross the ₹5,00,000 a month level that Razorpay names for its enterprise plan.
- Passing the fee to the customer is a model Razorpay's docs describe, but the Payment Links FAQ notes that UPI Payment Links do not work when the customer is the fee bearer.

Frequently asked questions
What are Razorpay charges per transaction in 2026?
As on 17 September 2026, Razorpay's pricing page lists a platform fee of 2% per successful transaction, with 18% GST charged on that fee. Setup fee and annual maintenance charge are both ₹0. A footnote also mentions a 2.15% plus GST platform fee, so confirm which payment methods it covers on the official page.
Is GST extra on Razorpay charges?
Yes. Razorpay describes its pricing as 2% plus GST, and its page states 18% GST is applicable. The GST is calculated on the platform fee, not on your order value. On an illustrative ₹1,000 order that is a ₹20 fee plus ₹3.60 GST, so ₹23.60 is deducted before settlement.
Is UPI free on Razorpay?
Razorpay's FAQ says there is Zero MDR on standard bank-to-bank UPI transactions, so the bank does not charge the merchant. The same FAQ adds that a standard platform or technology fee of 2% is applied. So on the published standard plan, a UPI payment still carries Razorpay's platform fee plus GST.
Does Razorpay charge extra for Payment Links?
No separate Payment Links charge is published. Razorpay's pricing page says Payment Links, Payment Pages, Payment Buttons and Invoices can be used at the same cost as the payment gateway. A link sent in a WhatsApp chat is therefore charged the normal platform fee plus GST only when the customer pays successfully.
How long does Razorpay take to settle money to my bank?
Razorpay's settlements docs give the standard domestic cycle as T+2 working days from payment capture, excluding bank holidays. Its pricing FAQ says typically T+1 or Instant. The cycle can vary by business type and risk, so rely on the settlement cycle shown in your own Razorpay Dashboard.
Does Convo360 add a fee on Razorpay payments?
No. You connect your own Razorpay account, customers pay on Razorpay's page and Razorpay settles directly to your bank. Convo360 adds zero markup on payments and never holds the money. You pay Razorpay's charges to Razorpay and your Convo360 subscription separately, starting at ₹999 a month plus GST.
